All wrapped up and ready to go
I notice that he likes stuff that's basically poppy. You might try Blur (you might mention to him that that the singer's the same guy who's Gorillaz), Manu Chao (especially Clandestino), R.E.M., Franz Ferdinand, Elastica, New Order, Oasis (1st album), Stone Roses, Eels and anything else I can think of has already been named. Wait, he's 12, AC/DC, every 12 year old boy loves AC/DC. It's the law.

Good words for private parts?
In Icelandic there exist words, 'píka' (pronounced PEE-ka) for vagina and 'tippi' (TIP-hih) that are fairly neutral, like the word breast in English.

Conversely there's no good neutral word for having sex.

Have Cell Phone, Will Travel
No need to apologize, as I'm an intensely curious person myself, I understand your plight and my question has been answered already.

I met, and later married, a very lovely American and mefite. We've been living over here for the past year and so spending at least the next year in the US seems only fair :) Also, immigration law makes it easier for us to live in America than here.

Thanks joelr! Now that I know the name of the American model have found a carrier that might have the 2651 soon, TracFone Wireless. However I've been unable to confirm this or find out when this might happen. Tracfone is also something I'm quite happy to find out about since I'm used to prepaid minutes with cellphones (it's how we roll over here) and I won't be penalized for having no US credit history. I've sent them an e-mail to see whether I can find out more.

A new screen name
why not go with 'tailorstoday'?

it's pleasant, easy to remember and already unique to you, if you're the sole purveyor of content on tailorstoday.com

google search only turned up either tailorstoday.com or tailorstoday.blogspot.com

A 'Life of Pi' based question
In India there are urban cows who subsist on snatched fruits and vegetables from market stalls and rubbish (cows can actually digest cardboard). Here's a picture of one. Here is some more information.

That being said, this info should be looked at in the context of the novel itself.

[[[spoilerspoilerspoiler, don't read further if you haven't read Life of Pi and intend to. You should, by the way, it's great]]]

spanish punk
hmm... don't know much about Spanish-language punk but if you're interested in rock en español I'd suggest starting with Café Tacvba's Reves/Yosoy, Gustavo Cerati's Bocanada and Manu Chao's Clandestino. The first is Mexican, the second Argentinian and the third French, but he sings mostly in Spanish and his parents are Spanish (his French lyrics are by far his best, though). These would all fit vaguely in that vaguest of genres, alternative.

All these should be easily… [more]

What to do for one day in Paris?
oh, and if books are your thing, visit Shakespeare and co.

They don't have anything to do with the US stores. They're quite wonderful and close to Notre Dame and the Seine (in fact, on the Left Bank, IIRC).

oh, how could I forget the link to the Shakespeare and co. website. And here's an article about the bookstore.
