Life Lessons From a Ten-Year-Old Cigarette Vendor
The act of trying to keep things the way they are is insanity. It’s an illusion. Trying something new means touching the unknown. It can be frightening and cause you to either fight or flee, rather than say yes.
It takes courage to change. Then again, why change when you don’t have to?
But when you don’t change, everything appears to stay the same. And this is the antithesis of life.
Life is change.
Life is always changing.
Remove MDM from an iPhone 13
I am the (legal) owner of an iPhone 13. It was wiped before I obtained it. When I go to set it up, I get to a screen that asks for the Remote Management login from the company that owned it originally. I do not have access to the password although I do know the user name. I want to remove (not bypass) this MDM software. What is the best, (free?) way to do so without contacting the company whose MDM it is? (While contacting the company would be possible, trust me when I say that is the last resort.)
Who Needs Friends?
My Mom has no friends. On the surface, the article is accurate, her mom has no friends. But if you ask me, the article is really a love letter from a daughter to her mother. An acknowledgement of how much she appreciates her mom now. Quite frankly, being born in NYC (and raised on LI), her mom sounds like a pisser. A pistol even at 80. During my divorced dating phase, I wish I had a date with someone wearing that brown leather skirt.
Number Spoofing
For about two weeks now, at least once or twice a day I get a call or a text saying some version of, "Yeah, I got a call from this number. Who is this? What do you want?" or I get an automated response in the form of a text that says, "Sorry, I can't talk right now." I have never contacted these numbers in any form.
Mama, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys..
There is Never a Cowboy Around When You Need One... Love the narration and the narrator's accent. Hoping the FedEx truck is not some viral marketing shit.
Next generation of ropers.
Bring In the Right-Hander
Who better to document many old and lost baseball parks than a guy who played in them? Jerry Reuss, 220 game winner, thrower of a no hitter, broadcaster, man who played in 4 different decades (60s, 70s, 80s and 90s) did just that.
Let Me Finish
Roger Angell is the greatest of all baseball writers. Today, the game has recognized the fact. This July, along with Joe Torre, Bobby Cox, and Tony La Russa, Roger will be celebrated in Cooperstown, New York, the site of the Hall of Fame. He will receive the J. G. Taylor Spink Award, which has previously gone to the likes of Grantland Rice, Red Smith, Ring Lardner, and Damon Runyon.
Just Looking for the Honey Pot
There is a joke here somewhere about Bears, Rights, Arms, the Right to Bear Arms, Bears Arms and holy crap camera work. SLYT Cats and dogs are cute, but how about a black bear? Cute bear climbs tree to see what the heck the hunter is doing on the blind in the tree.
What are the 3 most important criteria in selecting a seller's RE agent?
If you were looking for a real estate agent to list your house for sale, what would be the three most important things you would look for in that agent?
For example, one list might be:
1. experience selling houses in your price range.
2. Promised amount of feedback from potential buyers who view your house.
3. Commission rate.
Jasper v. Ford Remanufactured Engines
My '08 F-150 likely needs a different engine. I do not want an engine out of a wreck or from the junk yard or one rebuilt by a local shop. I am looking for a remanufactured engine. Does anyone have any experience with or insight into the quality difference between a Jasper Remanufactured engine versus a Ford Factory remanufactured engine?
How Do I Limit My Google Alert Results to English Only?
How do I eliminate foreign language results in Google Alert results?
Betsy, We're Not in Barneveld Any More
How does a natural disaster, a tragedy, change people? The Barneveld tornados of 1984 were considered some of the strongest tornados recorded. Survivors tell their stories 25 years later. Here is some video (news footage) of the aftermath. More survivor story video.
Need GMail standalone app for Blackberry Storm 9530
Looking for the app (or files) for GMail on my Blackberry Storm. Yes, Storm and yes Storm (original not Storm 2). Google no longer supports this and will not allow me to download the app.
Paranoia Industroia
How do I get rid of/destroy/throw out old network backup tapes that have personal information and customer information on them?
Home or Away?
Team A vs. Team B. Which is the home team if listed like this? I have seen conflicting opinions. Is there a standard in the US? Is it different in other countries? Does it differ by sport?
Guess the number of Jelly Beans, Win a Prize!
Is there a way for me to estimate the total value of a certain weight of random mixed us coins?
How Long Has This Been Going On?
What is the average length of tenure for a primary and secondary public school district Superintendent in the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut? The average superintendent has been employed as the superintendent in their current district for how long? Cites please.
Let's Go For a Test Drive!!
I want to buy a new "smart phone". (Hopefully smarter than its soon to be owner.) I want to try (or test drive) them out first. Is there a way to try various phones for a few days before actually purchasing one?
You Looking at Me?
I am a big baseball fan. I will watch every game on TV that I can regardless of the teams playing (although I am a Yankee fan and Pirates fan 2nd.)
I have noticed after a player strikes out, the camera often shows them looking back at what I thought was the pitcher as if to say, "I'll show you next time" or "That junk won't fool me next time" or whatever you want to assume. Then it occurred to me that they could be looking at the Jumbotron to see the pitch.
How do I get my browser to work?
On certain web sites, when I click on the next button or the page 2 to go to the next page, nothing happens. I cannot get to the second page of a news story. I want to fix this.
10 Years is a 70 Dog Years
So I never click on the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 years ago button on the Blue. For some reason (Friday night? Usual beverage?) I saw the 10 years ago today and I said to myself, "Self, that is a long time ago in internet land. Wonder what was the best of the web back then. This is it. Glad to see things haven't changed much. If you follow the link, there are actually diagrams on how to achieve the different "tricks".
It Wasn't Obvious to Me
A lot of people figure things out, but it takes a special talent or maybe personality to figure it our and do something about it. Previously, we heard about the man who wrote the software that blew up the economy. Now we find out whom that software was written.
I'll bet you don't know the answer
Is a recovered onside kick such as at the beginning of the 2nd half of tonight's Super Bowl when the ball is touched by the receiving team before it travels 10 yards but not recovered by them considered a turnover by the receiving team?
Suck the Chrome off the bumper
How do I move the "other bookmarks" folder link from the right side to the left side of my bookmarks toolbar when using the Google Chrome browser?
Spain or Pain?
Panic is in the house. My wife has planned a trip with our 13 year old daughter from the US to Spain. They leave on Sunday afternoon from JFK. Tonight while gathering her passport, we realize that her passport expired 1 year ago. (A minor's passport is only valid for 5 years.) Assuming cost is not an issue, is there anyway for my wife and daughter to make the trip legally on Sunday? I am looking for practical advice for someone in the NY tri-state area.
What is bigger than alot or a shitload?
My son asked me how many trees there are in the world. I know there are a finite number, yet I also know that it is not practical to count them. Same with grains of sand. When the set cannot be measured because it goes on forever we say the set is infinite. Is there a single word to express the concept of a countable, finite number too large to actually count?
How do i go all the way back?
With Firefox 2.0 (did not happen on 1.5.) when I return to the previous page via the back button, I am always sent to the top of the previous page regardless of how far I had scrolled down prior to jumping to the next page. Can I set it to go back to the spot I had scrolled to and not to the top or am I stuck? (My current workaround is to use the add on script that creates a duplicate tab)
Why won't my wireless connection allow me to reach the internet?
My laptop gets an IP address from the Lynksys wireless router, but I cannot connect to the internet. (My other laptop works fine.) What can I do to correct this?
Rocover forgotten windows xp pro admin password
