Calgary Stampede Meetup

I'm hoping to get up to the International Gay Rodeo Association event near Calgary next summer. Maybe we'll do a meetup then, too! I won't be in the area this summer, sadly.

Seattle! I am coming to visit!

I'm leaning vaguely toward trying to make the drive over from Spokane for this meetup. Finding a cheap hotel with easy access will be paramount, as I'm less made of money right now than ever before in my life. But it'd be groovy to meet all you crazy west-siders, plus rtha and mrzarquon. Anyway... leaning... vaguely....

Okay, so, is all this talk about Greenwood just the same kind of spoofing like when people here talk about Spocompton and Spokaloo and stuff? Because I laugh every time someone in Spokane tells me that they are afraid of certain neighborhoods at night. Like they're the equivalent of bad Chicago neighborhoods or something. And really, Spokane is one of the tamest places ever.

Well, I simply can't get the funds together to make it over to join y'all this time around. Sorry about that. I hope to get to one of your meetups someday, but I've got to get into better financial health before I can plan quickie weekends away that involve hours of driving and hotel and food and drink costs, especially with gas prices being what they are. Sorry I won't be there, but eventually you all will have to deal with my physical presence. I promise.

Of course I'm weird. I passed the entrance exam for MetaFilter, didn't I? I'm actually shockingly well house-broken, a very low-impact houseguest, and generally people seem to like having me around. I appreciate the offer, Slarty Bartfast, and understand about having one's dwelling in transitional states. rtha: we shall indeed meet one of these days. Thanks for the heads up about the weekend -- sorry I can't make it. Maybe I'll get down to your neck of the woods again someday.
