About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

My user name was inspired by the following:

"As empty vessels make the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest blabbers," - Plato
(Don't take myself so seriously)

In Christianity, the saying may refer to a willing mind ready to receive teaching
(Keep an open mind to what truth God is revealing to me)

An expectation that God will provide for the poor.
(We are to be his chosen vessels to deliver that providence)

A reference to a miracle in the Bible when a poor woman's vessels were filled with valuable oil from a single small container. (The only limitations on what God can accomplish through us are the ones we have put in place)

The 'empty vessel' of Taoist writings represents the container of the yin or nothingness. The empty vessel is the empty mind. It can act spontaneously as the situation demands because it is not tied to any particular set of actions.

The symbols for my picture are the Chinese symbols for 'Inner Peace'
