What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

First of all, did you notice that there are like 500 social media apps you can add to your profile? How does anybody have time for more than 3 or 4 social media platforms?

Secondly, and this is going to sound like one of those lame MySpace posts you used to get every other day, but hear me out; I've found myself going to other members' profiles a lot when I see an interesting post, and sometimes looking through their post history to see what else they've said here. And I always check to see if there's a blurb about them. But I wonder if this is a normal, or if it's totally weird. So if you are reading this, it would be pretty cool if you would send me a MeMail and tell me why you decided to hop over here for a look. I promise I won't judge you, even if you actually are totally weird. Thanks!

So anyway, I started lurking pretty much daily on MF in probably late 2001 after Kuro5hin started falling apart. Between my general insecurities and unwillingness to create a PayPal account, it was almost a decade before I finally created an account so I could send a pm to somebody. Now I mostly lurk still, and sometimes post when I think I have something funny or interesting to say.

The handle is sort of a play on my initials. A friend gave me this nickname a long time ago, but nobody has used it in years. I'm not all that paranoid, but I don't really like having the same handle on different platforms, so I try to find a unique one on each site. That's also why I don't share any of my other social media sites here. I know that anybody who really wants to can figure out who I am without too much effort, but there's no sense in making it too easy, right?
