What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

"Peteystock" was the e-mail ID when I first signed up for AOL (eek), round about 1992. Except for the fact that I dumped that AOL account a while ago, I've pretty much been using that ID ever since.

I've been fooling around with e-mail and internet newsgroups off and on since my senior year of college in 1990; blame some of my college friends for that since I was among the last to get e-mail (on VAX no less). Anyway...that was my early hook into the internet, but it took another 10 years for me to actually work full-time in computers.
