About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

When I was in high school I was a big X-Men fan. At the time I had kind of a crush on Kitty Pryde, and she had this pet dragon named Lockheed. (Of course, I tell most people I got my handle because I thought the Lockheed Blackbird SR-71 is the coolest airplane ever built...). I started using Lockheed as my handle on CompuServe. So how did I lose the "c" in my handle? Well, you see... back in the day, if you got high score on a video game you could only enter in your initials. I played a *lot* of video games, and started entering LOK as my initials. That evolved into a cryptic signature logo that I used for quite some time that was a deconstructed and stylized version of LOK. (What can I say? I was a teenager. It seemed cool at the time). So the "c" in Lockheed just kinda got lost in the deconstruction, and I have pretty much been Lokheed ever since.
