About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
Feminist, apatheist, military member, currently pursuing Russian animation.
In the interests of art and uncovering precious jewels, I bring you my "discoveries" (merely the slim pickings off the corpses of former adventurers!, definitely not wanting to step even close to this stunning post in any case) regarding Russian animation. I currently have neither the time nor interest in bringing this to you via Metafilter post; let it be unearthed by those who happen upon my profile at random. In this way, you shall learn as I am inclined to inform you of what I've learned, or trek on your own as you will. It's pretty cool stuff; I didn't come upon these things until recently (about 2011-ish).
Most links are from a YouTube user called eus347 and admittedly casual link chains via Wikipedia. Again, I am not a researcher of any type.
Aleksander Shiryayev, anim. 1906-1909
ballet dancer, choreographer, teacher, and Russia's initial animator
Ladislas Starewicz/Starevich, also known for French works
