What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

Working for a restaurant 12 years ago, this linen service delivers our shirts. One day they deliver this shirt that's got an oval nametag on it with a blue border like at some gas station or something - shoulda said "Bob" or "Chuck" ... instead it said "Xochi". As someone of Irish & German heritage I often get these weird looks, like "where the hell'd you get that mayan name?" (Xochipitl was Quetzacoatl's dad). Actually they only say that AFTER I answer the wrong question they invariably ask "What kinda name is that?" with "uh, it's Mayan I believe".

I started on "the internet" with BBS's in the early 90's. I was in the second wave of people using San Francisco's innovative (and incestuous...god how I miss it) SFNet. That was before the web really took off...before Netscape 3.
