What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

On the net since '91-92, who can remember? Began 2400-baud on local DC/VA bulletin boards then moved to aol and a weird little community called the Transom.

Got into gaming. Got into forums. Got into hating the S/N ratio most places. It's higher here. People bitch, but it's still higher here.

I happened to be reading Foucault's Pendulum when I first started posting to forums years ago and have kept the name since it is unusual enough to usually be available wherever I care to register.

I am a large ancient computer with a robot arm that has a nasty reputation. Or so some say.
