What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

sierray is a shortened form of sierra yankee which is the way S and Y are said in standard radio format - you know - that alpha baker charlie stuff. I fly sailplanes and my assigned "number" is SY. When I'm on the radio, I identify myself as Sierra Yankee. I thought it was too long for a web handle and shortened it. I've been on the net since 1991, pre-mozilla, back when Bill Gates thought the internet wouldn't amount to anything serious. A friend of mine started raving about all the available info and email and IRC and and ... you get the idea. Everything was done through a Unix shell. I think I was using a fast modem, 2400 baud.
