About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
My nickname is basically my first two initials spelled out. I've always loved my name: Katherine Johnna, and my initals kjo but have hated most attempts to shorten Katherine--Kathy, Kate, Kat, etc.
I first started using the internet in 1994, my first week in college, as a way to keep in touch with my friends from high school. I discovered the web by way Mosiac in the school infolabs. I never really thought it was a place for freaks, but it did take me awhile to get past the intimidation of code to try putting something out there myself. I am excited about the great potential that the internet has, though not in the dotcom, "I'll make a million" sort of way.
