What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

I had been lurking here for a year or so before I joined and and felt the commnunity here was so strong I could use my real name.

My engagement with Metafilter cycles from a feeling of love to a feeling of total and utter adoration.

Metafilter is made by everyone who posts and comments and I would like to thank you all for creating this corner of the internet.

My first proper job was at McDonalds. As part of the floor mop training I was taught to "take care of the corners, and the centre will take care of itself."
