About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

First of all, I'm a guy. It's amazing how many people want to be your friend when they see that you have "slut" in your username. Textureslut was just a word I used to describe my affinity for rubbing & touching cool textures ... velvet, velour, silk, skin, whatever. I'm a very tactile person. That's it, that's all.

I came to Metafilter from Fark ... I love Fark and I still check it a lot, but I often get frustrated with the level of conversation over there. Quite often an interesting discussion will get sidetracked into a pointless flame war ... it seems to me that discussions on MeFi usually stay on topic, even when they're on controversial topics. I dig that.

As for myself ... I'm 25, originally from Baltimore, currently in Milwaukee, a musician (check out my painfully indie label at www.textureslut.com ... it's got some mp3s that are pretty good. Really. I swear), a thinker, a drinker. I used to be a lover, but frankly I think I'm done with that part of my life. Or, at least, I'm fixin' to take me a long hiatus. My poor heart can't take it no more.

Drop me a line, say hi. I like smart people.
