About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
i never thought i would get to own anything on the internet with my name on it for free. i felt cool being the first benjamin at epinions, then at oh hello. so i was surprised to get it here too. i like my full name. i never caught on to the alternate personality on the internet. although it seems some people have that alternate personality, but their name is the same.
for me my inspiration was always personal websites and conversations with individuals on icq that took me out of my high school existence to a more meaningful peer dialogue. the smallness of the internet communities such as this one can be both intellectually claustrophobic or liberating. i search for the latter.
