What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

Afflatus is just a nifty, obscure word meaning "divine inspiration". I was probably inebriated when I chose my username and as I get tired and/or drunk, I tend to forget normal words and end up using obscure (but usually correct) words. Like the other weekend when I was very tired and starting in on a beer, I could not for the life of me remember the words "garbage can". So I offered to throw something away in the oubliette. Why can I remember words like "oubliette" but not "garbage can"? I have no idea. Make of it what you will.
