What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" My old blog used to be called Vitia, a Latin plural noun that loosely translates into "faults, sins, or abuses." These days, I try (not always successfully) to be somewhat less snarky as a writer. I'm a dad, a professor, a writer, and a veteran; that last identity is one that I have complex and ambivalent feelings about. I teach and research at the intersections of rhetoric, technology, composition, and economics.
