About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
Tired of humdrumming it with variations of my name, I set out to forge a "cool" e-dentity. I've never been a fan of complex life forms -- have always preferred the simple, enlightened drifters that follow the tide. Eat a bit, mate a bit, float wherever a bit, die in ecstasy (or not ecstasy, or not aware at all) . . . Prawns are among my favorites, so I joined their kingdom.
It was no more than a week later and I'd been informed, many times, of sounding like an ineffective hero or villain in The Tick. In hindsight, I should have seen that coming. In hindsight, I should have gone for "TheSlug" -- I like them better and, anyway, I could pretend I was a projectile when I needed to feel badass.
"ThePrawn" fits, though--after all, I'm pretty much an obsolete drifter.
