About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
Nick is Klingon, started using it years ago when I was involved in Klingon fandom (Klingon Imperial Diplomatic Corps, anyone?). I continue to use it because no one can pronounce it properly.
The first thing that floored me on the net was the use of e-mail during the Mills College co-ed scare to keep people at my college informed about the protests. We had information 15-30 minutes before the wire did. The second thing was finding, through gopher, an archive of historical documents on the Holocaust. The third thing was finding the NASA website, with all its glorious photos.
