What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

I like Lynx, have used that screen name, found it was often taken. I have some Scotch background so it became ScotchLynx. I am not an anthropomorphic liquor fiend.

I have not the time to be on the internet as much as I'd like but I like Metafilter, and I felt the option to throw in a comment from time to time would be worth the cost.
I will be seen little but hope that if I post something It will really be worthwhile.

Oh yeah, I've only come gradually to the internet, over a long period of time starting back in the days of the Genie BB (In the early 90's) and slow growth since then.
My son has helped me get more out of the net. in fact he introduced me to Metafilter.

(At least half of my posts are him, pretending to be me).
