What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

I am a poor writer, and nowhere near as smart as half of the people that post here. I often misuse or leave off essential punctuation,,, and while I am a fairly gud speller, I'm known to drop a few tylos typos, and will write too many run-on sentences.

As a technical person, I find that participating in the discussions on Metafilter have helped me immensely in expressing myself with words far better than my public school education ever did. I also feel I have come a long way in thinking critically and considering issues a more deeply than ever before.

Regardless of the topic, no other website offers the quality of discussion as Metafilter and in my own humble way I hope to contribute however I can.
