What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? My email address is my MeFi username plus "@pobox.com".

My username comes from a radio frequency communications effect called "intermodulation distortion", briefly explained at the end of this AskMefi answer, and more thoroughly explained here. Obviously you can also draw other meanings from the combination of "inter" and "mod", plus there's the meta-concept of the intermod products that come from word combinations, and then the additional layer of meta-ness that comes with using this on Metafilter ...
