About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

i think it comes from an episode of SCTV where eugene levy asks some kid on his dance show his name, and the kid says "joe blow" and eugine levy says "yeah... right" and the kid says, "no really, j-o-e b-l-o-u-g-h!"

also i guess i am some kind of internet old man, since i have been using the 'net since about 1987. and way back in the early 80s i was using something that sprint was offering called "PC Pursuit" which lets you connect to distant BBSs via some kind of packet-switched network. you called a local phone number to get into the network and then you could "dial" out from there. it was weird, wacky stuff.
