About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

My nickname does not come from motorcycles, Amiga, RedHat, or any of the other things you'd guess. Back in the early 90's, I was playing the Champions RPG with a bunch of people at Simon Fraser University. My character was ordinarily a regular guy, with not much power at all, other than the ability to take damage. But when he did take damage, that force was converted into strength, agility, and the ability to take even more damage. He was also completely addicted to the sensation of gaining more energy and therefore would spend all his hard earned cash on the most violent dominatrix possible, who would use jackhammers, drills, and other power tools on him. Hence...Kickstart.

I'm head moderator at UserFriendly.org.

http://www.myjobtips.com/#thisismypetprojectatwork, and now I am trying to earn money from GasTips.

I made the OmniCode.

OnePennyPixel was a bit of a lark, but it made me $90 for one hour work.

I'd love it if someone took over OpenedLetter and built it up more (defunct until I move it to other software).

FriendlyUser is a profanity/image/background cleanup tool that I made and seems pretty popular.

Geekly is my old blog Gadgeteer is my new one.

WebWise Network Services is my company, which provides website management and system administration (and can arrange webhosting and webdesign).
