About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

My Ask MeFi Interest Areas are london, uk, literature, London, book, movies, fiction, song, england, childrensbooks; this is super, super accurate.

My top London books for kids:
The Queen's Hat (Steve Anthony)
Katie in London (James Mayhew)
A Bear Called Paddington (Michael Bond)
The London Eye Mystery (Siobhan Dowd)
Plus a special recommendation for Mefi's Own yankeefog's novel: City of Secret Rivers

featherboa has been my alter-ego for as long as I have been using the interweb (over 20 years now). It came from being a fan of the Manic Street Preachers, whose devotees dress in an idiosyncratic uniform of spraypainted shirts, tiaras and... feather boas. Originally meant as a stopgap, i identify myself almost as much as 'featherboa', as i do 'Tara'. Weird, that.
