mefi.social is a Mastodon instance for Metafilter. It's unofficial - it's not controlled or owned by Metafilter. It's currently open to Metafilter members by invite only; request an invite by MeFi Mailing me.

This account's here to offer contact methods for the admins, as of 2022-12-04: Pronoiac (who runs the server). You can reach out via MeFi Mail and email (displayed to logged-in users).

I suggest that you enable "Forward MeFi Mail to email" in your Preferences. We currently send invites that expire after one week.

As of 2023-01-24, this verification doesn't work, due to a quirk of html here - Metafilter turns this into something including

, which Mastodon doesn't parse. I have notified the mods of that, and reached out to the Steering Committee.
