What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
It's not that exciting - I wanted a new nym and this one was open in most places, despite the risk of defining myself by my job. First I was a sysadmin, then a developer/engineer/what-have-you. Now? A bit of both, but a lot of nothing. You can read the name at least three ways:
1) My work output is/was a sane 1x, as opposed to the semi-mythical 10x developer/DevOps engineer.
2) I am one person, i.e. 1x dev.
3) Maybe I don't write much code these days, thus I am one ex-developer.
And net because someone wants 3k USD for the .com, and it helps meet some sites' character restrictions. I never said it was an elegant nym.
