What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

My nick is simply my given first and middle names. My parents were hippies, therefore my middle name is actually the place of my conception. No joke (although I'm still laughing).

I first started using the internet in 1992, posting on a Seattle BBS as "Rosewater." My first email account was in 1994, and my first website in 1996. Started blogging in 2000. My first book published in 2007 (with a second edition in 2010). I publish a network of lifestyle blogs called the Offbeat Empire.

I joined MeFi the day of the Seattle earthquake in February 2001 and have been around ever since. My high point as a MeFite was when I got called a oxymoronic doublespeaking shill.
