The New Wazoo came as a riff on the handle of some random dude from an old warez .nfo file. It's intended to make fun of modern consumerist culture. The slogan associated with the name is/was "It's not old!". The implication there is that by being not-old, it also doesn't suck, as old things necessarily do.
