What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

My picture is of a can of of corned beef that I found while cleaning out my grandmother's pantry in 2004. It was old then, it's older now. A couple years later, it was sitting on my desk when I was trying to sign up for a metafilter ID to ask a question about a vegetarian Italian cookbook.

As far as random objects that could possibly encapsulate my personality go, it seems to work well enough.
