What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? Benjamin Nushmutt is a favorite character from Wayside School is Falling Down, a book of children's stories that I used to read to my cousins. Due to a mix-up, everyone thinks his name is Mark Miller. Benjamin is afraid to speak up and correct the mistake, and simply assumes a new identity.

One day my brother and I discussed what a good Metafilter nickname might be (He suggested Benjamin Nushmutt. I was thinking of something more grandiose, like Whirling Blade Vortex, or perhaps Black Laser), and I later discovered that I had been mysteriously gifted an account. I suppose that one can only lurk for so long....
