What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? 2. a young heroine (created by Lynda Barry) whose weird geekiness I share and whose bold bravery I admire.

As nicknames go, I've usually been Marge, not Marlys. Maybe Marge was already taken when I joined Metafilter? And anyhow, those two names share a vibe that I like. So for here, for now, marlys it is.
