About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

During my time in college, I thought it would by h-i-sterical to call my radio show on KRNL "The Stanley Jimbrowski Show." Both Stanley (The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane) and Jimbrowski (old-school rap, especially "Jimmy" by Boogie Down Productions) are euphemisms for the male appendage, so when strung together, the name sounded like some guy watching baseball games in his Chicago garage on a portable TV, while dressed in his summer finery of a sleeveless t-shirt, shorts, black socks, and black shoes. An Old Style or Meister Brau would be by his side, as well as his pack of Benson & Hedges.

Yeah, I thought I was pretty funny back in the 1990s.

Times change, I change, and what was once funny to me isn't so funny anymore. Stannate serves as both a passing reference to the original name, and also allows for some online anonymity due to chemistry-related results when searching online.
