About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

If you're looking for a therapist in the US, Psychology Today's Find A Therapist tool may be helpful. If you're looking specifically for a sex therapist, check the Locate A Professional listing of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, & Therapists [AASECT].

MarkovCatlet: Nothing thrills my heart sideways and I still have to live in it. The downside was that they remember you, especially if you like the MacBooks. Developmental editing is only reliable at cold temperatures.

Things MeFi has brought into my life (a list in flux):
  • I'm a bone marrow donor because of an obituary thread on the grey.
  • I found World Community Grid on the blue. Funded by IBM, the Grid is a distributed computing initiative that supports research teams around the world working on scientific solutions to medical and humanitarian issues. There's a MetaFilter team if you want to join.
  • I procrastinated on joining Ravelry until I learned there was a MetaFilter group. Putting my stash into Ravelry helped me get it under control, while the pattern finder helped me come up with ways to use it up.
  • The Saucy Vegetarian gets recommended a lot on "how can I choke down more vegetables" AskMes. It's been very helpful as I transition to a mostly-vegan diet for health reasons.
