About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
My daughter had a Smurf-themed color crayon set - aside from the obvious color names ("smurf blue", "smurfberry red"), I found the most excellent pen-name ever: "azrael brown", the color of a Smurf-eating cat. I've been around the internet since the early 90s, and I've been adding to the world of online content in many ways, from my neglected-but-recently-reactivated blog to the world-famous receipt site (as seen on MeFi several years ago, and more recently), and also various side-projects Kitschy Kitschy Coo, Dakota Death Trip, The Double-Breasted Dust Jacket and writing gigs at backwash.com, collectorsquest.com, the High Plains Reader, and the Prairie Public Radio program Dakota Datebook. At one point I bought naming rights to a building in at MIT, and they've kept the name over 20 years. If you think that's weird, I attended a traditionally women's college as a male student. My current day-job is turning paper into pixels but I'm also a film production student at Minnesota State University - Moorhead.
