What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

My nickname comes from an IRC channel I frequented in the mid-late 90s. A bunch of the regulars had fun with re-writing my first name in various ways, and this one stuck. I use it all over the place. Some people, who know me in real life but not online, even have me in their phone this way, because that's what I was introduced as. The k is, generally, not silent. It's up to you.

For whatever reason, I find myself posting a lot of attempted answers to AskMeFi. My goal there is to not just provide any old meh answer, but aim for Best Answer ratings. (Is that everybody else's goal too? I don't even know.) I sometimes fear that I'm a thread-killer, but that could just be confirmation bias.
