Not in fact the "boat" meme. I mean, boats are great, but I'm not exactly trying to propagate the idea that the landlubbers should abandon shore and hit the high seas.

Think of it like this. Imagine an ocean of ideas we'll call the ideosphere. The ocean is comprised of individual ideas or memes. I am the meme that floats on the surface, allowing myself to be carried to distant shores by the ideosphere's waves. I am the captain, able to catch the wind in her sails and circumnavigate the ideosphere at will.
