About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
Responsible for UnBlinking, and Googlewhack, and Nexcerpt. Not necessarily in that order.
I started building internet tools in 1996. My online service, Javelink, won BotSpot's first award in the Web Change Monitoring category. I was the first owner/operator of egosurf.com, which used our technology to... egosurf. Not having learned my lesson when creating that viral monster, I made a similar mistake in inventing Googlewhack. OMG. That was a freakin' media circus. Along the way, I built Nexcerpt, a sophisticated automated news clipping service. That pays the bills. Unblinking rose up midway, and has morphed into a first-hand analysis of exactly how broken the major online dating services are. They really suck. Software engineers should avert their eyes. It's bad.
