About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
I first used a computer network in 1982, when my high school's single terminal gave me access to the state education department's PDP-11 to play ADVENT and DND after school. My first online friend lived in another town 27km away.
I first used the internet as a postgraduate in the national capital in 1992. My second online friend lived in another city 466km away.
Now I use it every hour of every day, not least to keep in touch with friends and family over ten thousand miles away, including my second online friend, and once in a while even my first.
