The Sartorial Twist. Why settle for one fashionable ensemble when you can have three?

For when you want your look to say "I dress according to a random number generator."

Gahh this is pretty terrible.

I quite enjoy this. Exquisite Corpse for the style set.

Crap, crap, crap, aaaand... crap.
"I dress according to a random number generator."

Doesn't everyone? I dress in the dark at 5am so as to not wake She Who Must Not Be Disturbed and it's always a random shirt in the drawer. Sure, it's a limited set of 20-so, but it's a mystery to me until I get outside to the car.

Although I really wish the images linked to their originals. That's a wasted opportunity.

Also wish you could link to a particular combination to see it again. I HAVE SO MANY WISHES.

Love it!

90% of my clothes can be mixed and matched without my looking any more slovenly than I usually do.

I ended up with a dude/lady with six arms. I wish that would come into fashion.

I ended up with a dude/lady with six arms.

There's something very Gods Walk Among Us about some of the too-many or too-few limbs things that happen with these. Love it.

Most of the outfits looked fairly normal to me. I must be watching too much kpop fashions

You know, with a few exceptions (a heavy wool coat combined with a breezy light skirt, for example) these actually look pretty good.

Which I guess is the point of The Sartorialist - the idea that a great look is more based on a few solid items that look pretty good with almost anything than trying to force yourself into an unnatural gimmick.

What it demonstrates is...tahdah!..that people who follow trends and who are photographed by style bloggers who follow the same trends will all wear similar clothes at similar moments. You could, of course, through in some fat girl chic from Definatalie or someone queer fashion from Bevan Brandlingham and mess the whole thing up. Not that I'd turn down a luxurious and subfusc fashionable wardrobe should anyone have one going begging.

I like this except I wish the image pieces would link back to the whole image in context. Some of these outfits I wanna see on their own.

or "throw in" as some people like to say.

Oh. wemayfreeze already said that. And also said the other complaint I had. So uh: high five, wemayfreeze.

I think this is neat. Also, I like Sartorialist, and I think it's pretty great when people put thought into what they wear.

Is this something I would have to not wear garanimals to care about?

I like the ones where the head faces one way and the feet the other.

I think it would be better if they didn't include their heads, the weird old guy I just got was kind of creepy. The outfit was pretty normal though - brown jacket and jeans.

Luckily nobody is likely to have the expansive wardrobe required to copy these.
