I really like the art style on the portraits. I want to play that game.

This just made my decade.

I think I like the art more than the music, which seems sort of ... I don't know, hamfisted? Like they're missing what makes simple synths charming. The rest of the videos on their channel sort of bear it out. A bit like playing, maybe, classical tunes on a distorted electric guitar without changing the arrangement at all. It misses an opportunity.

It's cloudy today in San Diego, and this just made my day. Cheers.

It really lacks the subtle artistry and attention to detail of the original.

Hey Hootenatty: the fact that it's cloudy in today in San Diego is what made my day (though I liked this, as well).

That's what I like about it. It reminds me of the olden days of the Internet, pre-Youtube, when if you wanted to listen to a song, your best option was usually some dude's GeoCities page with a handful of crappy MIDI arrangements of Pink Floyd tunes. And you were happy to have found them!

Yeah, that pretty much nails it. I find it sort of charmless, though. Maybe I'm just grumpy today.

Believe me, it wasn't nearly as cool as it seems.

For those who don't know (I didn't, and could not care less about TOTD), here is the video that this is referencing:

Temple Of The Dog - Hunger Strike

The worst of 1991, right there. Gimme some Bullhead instead of those hair models, any day ...

We agree to disagree, my brother.

I am not familiar with the original song, or it's video. I almost feel like this made this better as a Piece Of Art - I didn't sit there comparing it to the real thing, I just giggled at the absurdity of these low-res people flapping their lips in vague synchronization to swooping synth noises.

I mean I'm also lying in a hotel room in SF, awake at 3am, with a mysterious neck/shoulder pain that's been slowly growing over three busy weeks, so maybe I'm just desperate for light, meaningless amusement. And this was pretty impressively lacking in meaning or significance for me. So thanks.
