I was just in New York City and commented to my husband how neat it was that virtually all of the dogs that I saw had little sweaters or coats on while they were out on walkies. Looks like they came in handy!

I love it! We took our Malinois out this morning to frolic in the yard and she does this lamb gambol pounce hop through the snow.

I'm a cat person who doesn't like snow, but those are awesome!

Our dog's first snow happened right have she was spayed and therefore in a cone of shame. She ran through the snow nose-first like a little doggy snow plow. Then she would stop and whimper ever 30 seconds or so when her head was completely covered in snow. We'd clear out the cone, and she'd she'd start back up again.

She primarily seems love snow now because it holds SMELLS SO MANY SMELLS OH MY GOD SMELLS! Walking her now has become a slow affair because each patch is inexhaustibly interesting.

I'd like to think my dog would be similarly photogenically adorbs, but I have a feeling she'd just turn around and look at us like, "what fresh hell is this, then?" Despite being half Siberian Husky (the doggy DNA test tells us), she's not fond of cold weather, or any wet stuff, and I think she'd tweak to snow being wet stuff in disguise. (But maybe not? We're unlikely to find out, since we're in southern Greece, where we sometiiiimes get some light flurries but rarely anything that sticks, and that hasn't happened to any significant degree since we've had her.) I'm jealous though; I'd love to see her go nuts over snow, like this dog.

the first time my precious beloved dearly departed Peaches saw snow he was utterly incensed, wholly outraged, absolutely furious. he barked at it, he bit it and then sneezed angrily, he snapped his jaws at each individual flake that dared to swoop before him, all while doing the hot foot sand lizard dance. within about half an hour or so he was plowing through it like a freight train and knocking down innocent passers-by, with the full force of his 85lbs right behind their knees, so they could roll around in it with him.

god i miss that dumb goober

These are great, but this is the only one that, for me, has even come close to beating the panda. I think the panda's got this one, hands down.

Here is a lovely one, made sweeter by the knowledge that the dog in question was rescued from severe abuse and took a long time to recover any trust in the world: Roo, Snow. Snow, Roo.

Okay, yeah, that's freaking awesome and it made me cry. But it's three years old, unfortunately, and can't knock the panda out of contention for the current blizzard.

I LOVE EVERYONE'S DOGS SO MUCH

I would love to see how my two small terrier mixes react to snow, I think they'd be hilarious. Sadly, we're enduring mild and sunny weather in central California currently.

please don't throw anything at me for that one

I will give it up to the panda for the current blizzard. Fortunately, the topic is ever-green.

I adopted an older dog in SoCal a few years ago, and one of the best things I ever did was take him to Chicago for a Christmas visit. It was the first time he had ever experienced a real winter and even though the little dude was near the end of his life, being out the snow put a joyful leap in his step.

I grew up in Northern BC and the area I lived in got a *lot* of snow every year. We had part of our yard fenced in, and the snow was often higher than the fence. One year, after a particularly big fall of light, fluffy snow, I decided to toss our Corgi-cross over the fence, just to see what happened.

For the first 10 seconds or so, I though that I might have killed our dog. He wasn't making any noise, and other than the spot I'd thrown him in, the snow was undisturbed. Was it possible for a dog to drown in snow? I started calling his name to see if I could get a reaction.

And then all of a sudden, he came bounding our of the middle of the snowbank, where the gate would normally have been (it was kept open for the winter, because as ice piled up on the driveway, you wouldn't be able to open and close it), plopped head over heels into the driveway and then looked at me expectantly like 'that was awesome, can we go again?' I tossed him in a few more times, until our backyard looked like the winter version of the movie Holes.

About 10 minutes later, I did the same thing with our cat.

Her reaction was ... not quite as enthusiastic.

I find it unbelievable that everyone here is ignoring the most blatantly important questions:

WHO'S A GOOD DOG? HUH? WHO'S A GOOD DOG? IS IT YOU?

SPOILER: It totally is.

I'm Tian Tian the Panda, and when it comes to totally losing it in the snow, I'll school your canine ass six ways to Sunday.
