Who else but Cate the Great could pull this off? I'll be watching!

That clean-room suit makes me think of her wonderful, tiny, uncredited role as Janine in Hot Fuzz!

Dadaism as a funeral for civilization made me cry.

Saw this at the Park Ave Armory last week and was suitably impressed. About 9-10 minutes into the cycle all the various screens sync up and all the Cate Blanchett characters directly face the viewer while the camera does a close-up framing her face while she drops her voice into a monotone. Although it is just a jumble of words, it never failed to jolt me. The Armory does so many interesting large scale works.

Flavorwire description of the installation. Looking forward to the film.

Also saw this at Park Avenue Armory and, if art makes you feel something this definitely succeeds. Several are gorgeous and weird meditations (the clean suit one was hypnotic) and some are so on the nose that I kind of shrugged (conceptual art), and several were somehow appropriately cringeworthy. But the monotone monologues all were pitched to harmonize in a way that made the whole piece something pretty awesome to experience.

But in some ways it was also like an episode of How It's Made without the insipid canned music and instead Cate Blanchett riding a scooter.
