Darkness on the Edge of Town is what made me a Springsteen fan too. It's still his best album (Tunnel of Love a close second.)

This is delightful. My wife once drove the six hours to Atlanta to arrive at a mall at 3am where she dodged security guards trying to chase her out of the parking lot, cadged a meet & greet pass, and waited in line for 8 hours to meet Rihanna, so I very much feel like I understand this woman. I hope she gets her chance.

A friend who is also friends with Bruce and whose family lives down the block from him found out I was a Springsteen fanatic and offered to get me a meal with him next time I was in Jersey when he was. I thought about it for days but then declined because honestly, what am I going to say to him for an hour or two? Fawning chatter for a couple of minutes is one thing but in the past I did meet several famous people and realized that I really had little in common with them that would sustain a conversation. So I can appreciate Tomiann's quest but not really agree with it.

Seconding this, but for less noble reasons.

While I am happy that she finds so much to love in Springsteen's music. she's been a fan for only ~260 days. I probably spent close to that much time in pursuit of tickets back when the nearest Tickettron was more than an hour's drive and the line started forming the day before tickets went on sale—I've been a die-hard Springsteen fan since before this kid was born.

If she wants to meet Bruce, she needs to get in line someplace behind me.
