This is going to really bite into the traffic to my brand new podcast about cold self-serve breakfast foods

If you know the series at all, then you need to listen to the first 2m5s of this, GuyZero.

After listening to the trailer I'm renaming my podcast "Innocent or bonkers?"

These other cereal-related podcasts are nice and all, but we all know the true winner is The Empty Bowl featuring Justin McElroy.

I want to listen to this new podcast but the purveyors do not allow for direct download. I do not, and will not, have a "smart" phone. These folks do not even have an rss feed apparently. Just another over-produced flashy web site with no access to their material. I don't get it. You would think they would want to get their product to as many listeners as possible, but I guess not. (end of rant)

It's about listener tracking. If you can download it then you can mirror it (which lots of platforms do) and then they don't have an accurate idea of how many listeners they have.

If they want to sell ads they need to have the best audience data they can get. They're the first podcast big/popular enough to get away with it.

I have my hopes up for this.

I think I might be the only person who liked season 2 better than 1. Season 2 was fascinating journalism and was rich with information about the process in the military and government that let the Bergdahl situation play out the way it did.

charlesminus: If you have something like iTunes you can use that to subscribe to the podcast. Here is the URL that iTunes uses. http://feeds.serialpodcast.org/serialpodcast I don't know if that would help you accomplish what you want but it looks like an RSS feed to me.
