WTJU is how I discovered Frank Zappa as an impressionable young lad. So good on them.

Sadly, WTJU has gotten away from these sort of free-wheeling days (although the article does mention WXTJ, which I'm not sure a lot of students are aware of).

This also gives me yet another opportunity to plug the best radio station in Charlottesville (and the world): WNRN!

Yeah I remember WNRN had some kind of insane darkwave show that would play late at night I would listen to because why not?

WNRN really filled a void when it started up so I'm glad to see it's still kicking.

I also love WNRN. A good friend worked there while in college, and I’d go hang out with her at the station when I visited. She’d let me pick the C-rotation songs.

WTJU. The sounds of my childhood! (Along with WUVA and WWWV, long before the awesome WNRN hit the scene.)
