Fortune Magazine went roadtripping in search of the technological future by trying (and not succeeding) to blend in with college kids. After getting schooled themselves, they came up with a list of cool web companies with lots of sex appeal, in the categories of media, communication, biotech, and international. via Blogger.

Spring Street supports personals for more than 20 Websites, and provides access to its vast database.

Sexy.

An Internet-based service that allows users to get in touch with strangers they'd like to meet.

Sexier.

Think of Elisar as a security officer for Web images. Its system physically deters copying.

Scary.

y2karl, It's not scary that Elisar is able to deter the copying of images. It's certainly within everybody's rights. I'll just miss the free lunch.

stupid. isn't this, like, the 50th stupid scheme for locking down web images? you have to download the Elisar OS extension to view the pictures at some site. the Elisar plugin doesn't have a 'save to disk' option. whoo hoo.

"Cripple your system or you can't see my pretty pictures."

"Thanks, I'll pass."

Hee hee. The 'roadtrip' article is like a bad movie; "old people swing it with the kids". The authors are trying far too hard. And they're lame. :)
