City Girl, one of "lo-fi" chill hop's brightest lights, has many excellent albums that you can listen to on YouTube or purchase on Bandcamp. Time Falls Like Moonlight is a personal favorite and one might go so far as to call it a masterpiece. This isn't why we're here today, though. We're here today because of the earth-shattering revelation a few months ago that City Girl is not in fact one person who produces some of the finest new music out there but one person and a cat who produce some of the finest new music out there together.

I just spun through this album while relax/studying and really dug it. The ukulele seems especially suited to the chill hop genre (cats, too, I suppose).

Yeah, really digging 'Time falls like Moonlight!'

Seeing the cat jam, I wonder if the OP-1 is going to be the 808 of the 2010's... It's kinda amazingly ubiquitous.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Bandcamp Friday if you feel inclined to support that way!

I haven't really paid attention to individual chill hop artists -- I usually buy Chillhop Music's seasonal compilations. But I just went and got City Girl's complete discography...really good stuff (and a cute cat, as well).

Thank you for this! I can't wait to check it out. I am An Internet Old. YouTube suggested a lo-fi chillhop channel for me a few weeks ago and I am LOVING the whole genre while I work from home.

The animation on the chillhop videos reminds me of the old Google Themes where the little animals would move throughout the day cycle.
