That lego man looks like he's about to blockade Naboo.

Now I know what a cross between Homer Simpson and a Sleestak would look like.

Jesus, Adam, don't drill toward your hand!

Amazing!

It was the toenails and the opposing thumbs on each hand that pushed it into the truly horrifying place for me.

"Behold, an abomination!"

Why did he have to give it such a "please kill me" expression?

Definitely fell into the uncanny valley

And then climbed out and continued to lurch toward you, grinning maw and dead black eyes fixed onto your soul.

Watching the video, thinking, "There's gonna be a penis, isn't there?" Shockingly, there was not.

Not sure why you're going "realistic" with stuff like the stomach and toenails, and adding a thumb to the claw....The eyes aren't all that realistic either.

I really think he should have gone with the more modern white dot in the eyes. That thing is creepy.

Praeclarus est titulus huius postae. Gratulor tibi.

For fuck sakes, man, a minifig doesn't have a belly button; it has a sprue.

Not sure if that would make it more or less horrifying, though.

Every time I see something like this, it makes me think how nice it would’ve been to have had a skill or a talent of some kind.

Everything is gruesome
Everything is trapped inside of the dream
Everything is gruesome
When you can't move your mouth but you must scream

After my wife and I watched the video, she commented on the title, "I don't think he's actually sorry."

I wasn't sure what to think until he made the toenails, and then I knew it was going to be upsetting. 10/10

Also, thank you, phooky, from now on I'm going to refer to outies as sprues.

Oh my god. This was so, so cheerfully horrifying??? Just a jolly Canadian making an abomination

I never watch linked videos, but this? I made an exception and I'm delighted. I'm only disappointed so many of the other (very talented) works on his channel are not so unsettling.

That said the drilling towards the hand was the most horrifying bit of this video for me.

I'm trying to imagine which would be the creepier follow up:
- limbless Fisher-Price angry freckled boy
- stiff-armed Playmobil guy
- photrealistic WeebleWobble (help! I'm trapped in a glass egg of emotion!)

His pretty realistic Winnie the Pooh goes horrifyingly off the rails at the end.

If it's any consolation, I am sorry he made it, too.

That's an interesting way to use the word 'realistic'.

Is he really sorry, or just Canadian?

I am just now noticing that I misspelled Lego in the title. In my defense I did find myself briefly debating whether to reach for some kind of play on “logos” what with the base layer of Jesus pun already there but then I thought nah that’s just a weird reach and I can’t really back it up, let’s just type the normal relevant word Lego and call it good, job done, wipe hands

I just assumed it was some reference I didn't get.

Also it cracks me up that you (I assume) no longer have the ability to fix it. Like when Superman gave up his power so he could shag Lois Lane and then he wasn't able to save the planet. I dunno I hardly remember Superman II.
posted by bondcliff at 8:50 AM on June 10, 2022

Oh, I retain that power (emeritus mods don't tend to get scrubbed out of the toolset since we might end up helping out here and there anyway). It'd just be embarrassing to change it this late and embarrassing-and-funny to admit the mistake.

This was fun, and the guy has skills of which I'm envious. Love his delivery.

Shades of Jason Freeny (previously, previouslier) going on, if you want more of this kind of thing.
