Scooters in police work? I wish there were subs, as I found it very interesting.

EDIT: and I've just been informed that that's not the police, but a TV show.

There are English versions:
* episode 1, English and Māori
* episode 2, English and Māori
* episode 3, English and Māori
* episode 4, English and Māori

"Wellington Paranormal" is a "What We Do in the Shadows" spin-off, like, X-Files as a comedy, with local police.

Forgot to say, Taika Waititi is one of the Executive Producers for Wellington Paranormal.

Yes, Wellington Paranormal is a fictional TV show about fictional police dealing with ghosts etc.

The actors from Wellington Paranormal have done more than 17 real ads about COVID safety which appeared on the real New Zealand Police youtube account.

The definitive Wellington Paranormal COVID safety video is Two Meters Please. If you're wondering why, stick it out until at least 1:30. Warning: you will sing this for days if not weeks.

And here's an article on it from Scoop. These two are reliably hilarious, and I am happy for any little sliver of Wellington Paranormal content I can get. I haven't watched the last episode yet because then it will ALL BE OOOOOOOOOOOOOOVER! *sob*

Not surprised that Karen O'Leary is one of the faces of this. O'Leary also did educational videos during lockdown in 2020. Until very recently her primary career was as an early educator; she was acting as a second job. Yes, even while starring in Wellington Paranormal! And if you look her up, Google lists her as "New Zealand schoolteacher."

I once saw her on Cuba Street while I was getting an ice cream at Duck Island. I wanted to fangirl her but she had a gym bag and was walking like she was on a mission. My heart went pitter-pat.

Oh! I didn't know the 2022 season was its final season.

And I was about to say I didn't even know there was a fourth season. And then to whine that it probably wasn't available in Canada yet, but it's all up on Crave streaming already. Well, that's my next few days' viewing sorted, a full rewatch of the whole lot is definitely in order.

"Wellington Paranormal" has become one of my favorite shows - it is utterly brilliant, and the cast is simply amazing. Sarge is BRILLIANT. Love them all. Even Parker! These scooter videos are fun!

Add another series to the ever-growing list of stuff I'd like to watch but I don't want to subscribe to YET ANOTHER GODDAMN STREAMING SERVICE

What do you mean, not the police? But there's this documentary series and everything.

You can buy Wellington Paranormal for a one-time fee (no subscription) from Apple.

Whilst we're on the subject of informative, yet still great to watch, New Zealand made, government funded TV, you might like The Eggplant - also staring Karen O'Leary:

"New Zealander drama-crime-comedy that will help young Kiwis navigate one of the greatest mysteries of the 21st century"

If you have seen the WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS movie, remember the bit where the police show up, and they semi-hypnotize them to not notice anything odd, and the cops show up and ding them for overloaded outlets and lack of smoke detectors, but miss the bodies lying around?

That's them. They get tasked for a special top-secret task force dealing with paranormal activity.

Well, okay, their sergeant thinks that something paranormal is going on and chooses the two of them to regularly meet with in an abandoned broom closet to deal with potentially weird stuff.

I'd watch the cast read from the phone book, to be honest. One of my favorite shows.
